Funding
agencies encourage, and in some cases require PIs to show how
proposed research
will have broader
impacts. With minimal effort on your part, we’ll connect
you with the science education professionals who can broadly
disseminate components of your research to a diverse audience.
We’ll also help you write the sections of your proposal
that that describe the outreach plan, its anticipated impact
and associated costs. And this service is free! Below
are descriptions of the three California COSEE Scientist Involvement
levels.
SUPPORTING
SCIENTIST

At least one (1-2-hour) meeting with a CA COSEE staff member
to discuss and plan your education/outreach contribution

1-5 hours participation, annually, by you or a designated
graduate student in a CA COSEE-facilitated project

One 1-2-hour interaction with CA COSEE staff to evaluate
the experience

0-5% of your proposal budget
COLLABORATING
SCIENTIST

At least one (1-2-hour) meeting with a CA COSEE staff member
to discuss and plan your education/outreach contribution

One day to one week (total) participation, annually, by
you or a designated graduate student in a CA COSEE-facilitated

One 1-2-hour interaction with CA COSEE staff to evaluate
